April Events
After hearing that Laurel was going to be baptized, Terry's mom quickly hopped on a plane and came to be a part. We had 2 great weeks together, and it was very important for Laurel to get to have a family member here for her special day. The 2 weeks were filled with lots of cooking with grandma, site seeing and sharing our lives in Slovenia with her. Our Slovene friends really made her feel welcome.
Two months ago Laurel really wanted to be baptized and at the last minute she got really sick and couldn't be. She cried and asked, "Why now?". Well, if she hadn't gotten sick, she wouldn't have had the great experience in the sea, and grandma wouldn't have been there. She really made us proud as she shared that she really wanted to live her life for Jesus.
The Monday after Easter is also a holiday here, so we took advantage of the day and had an egg hunt with our neighbors. We hid around 300 eggs. Afterwards we told them the Easter story using small objects in plastic eggs that represent the story. We had a great time. The evening before, Nika, the girl on the far left watched The Ten Commandments sitting next to Terry. Seeing the scene of the Red Sea parting her comment was, "Right, who would believe that." Terry said, "I do". She looked at him and said, "Ok, maybe I could believe that too."
"This was a memory making day", was Alenka's comment. We had a great day sharing great American and Slovene food. Our neighbors are great friends.
